The strongest timber boundary

Closeboard fencing is built in place rather than dropped in as ready-made panels. Vertical feather edge boards are fixed to arris rails running between the posts, overlapping each other to create a solid, continuous face.

That construction is what makes it so durable. There are no thin panel frames to twist in the wind, and individual boards can be replaced later without taking down a whole section.

Feather edge fencing to suit Camberley gardens

Because closeboard is made on site, it follows uneven ground far better than panels. That helps on the larger, older plots around Camberley's wooded edges, where roots and gentle slopes make fixed panel sizes awkward, and heights can be set to suit the boundary rather than a standard panel.

We usually recommend concrete or pressure treated posts set firmly into the sandy local soil, with gravel boards at the base to keep timber off the ground and a capping rail to shed rain off the top of the boards.

Privacy, security and a uniform finish

Closeboard fencing is the natural choice where you want a private garden, a secure boundary and a smart, even finish, whether that is a rear garden backing onto a footpath or a side boundary beside a driveway. It takes stain or preservative well if you want to change the colour later.

If you prefer the flexibility of panels, have a look at our garden fencing and fence panels page. Either way, we walk the boundary with you and give you a clear written quote after the visit.

Closeboard fencing is built on site from vertical feather edge boards fixed to horizontal arris rails between posts. Because it is constructed board by board rather than dropped in as a panel, it is considerably stronger than standard panel fencing.
